You there, wait. I can see it in your eye, you're after the legendary lost gold of zoints aren't you? Yes, I knew it. Excitement and greed give off very distinct signals. Well I suppose I shouldn't waste me breath tellin' ya that it's a waste o' time, the others before you didn't listen to me I expect ye to follow the trend.  As far as I'm concerned though, there be no gold anywhere except the pockets o' that david Chapman fellow.

But I did make a promise to old black beard that I'd tell anyone he sent along a little bit about the rumored treasure. He's gettin' o' bit crazy in his latter years but he was once a damn fine man. I be a man of my word, mind you, and I see nothin' wrong with helpin' a dyin man live out his last fantasy as a sheppard to young explorers, no matter how crazy and ridiculous it may be. However, I promised to help black beard because he be a friend of mine- fetched me mother medicine when she was sick he did he did. She had a terrible case o' the blues ye see, and he came to our down with a nice bottle o' the finest scotch. Well, now that I be thinkin' bout it maybe we found him in our front yard by the ol' garbage cans passed out with a bottle of scotch in his hand. No matter, the end results are the same, me mother got drunk and the rest, as they say, is history.

In any event, I have no obligation to help the likes o' you. You gotta prove yourself worthy of me help before I just go handing it out, otherwise everyone would be rich with me knowledge. I'm a very wise man, you see. Oh yes, us leprechauns are gifted with unrivaled wisdom. I suppose it was god's way of levelin' the playin' field- what with us being three feet tall and generally creepy we needed somethin' goin for us. The pot o' gold doesn't hurt, but that nice bonus is too busy cancellin' out the rep we got for bein' associated with rainbows. Not all of us leprechauns play ball for the other team, you know.

I tell ye what, I'm in a rather generous mood this day. Ya' see, a shipment of the finest gin arrived earlier. So, if you can answer just one question I will accept you as my friend.
